Light ran after me
Light ran after me and pulled me back from the precipice of darkness
Light ran after me because I’d left it behind as I stepped off the bus into the night
Light ran after me to carry me home when grief stole my soul
Light ran after me and thrust me into the waterfall of diamond-bright life

——
This was written as a response to the prompt, ‘Light ran after me….’ A line from a poem that Beth Kempton read out during a live writing circle as part of the Ink & Flame course on Friday 6th February. Perhaps a little deeper than I intended or first thought.
